Emulsion sealing
Emulsion is a water based bituminous product.
Some people correlate an emulsion bitumen product similar to an Undercoat in painting, it is used to penetrate into the 'pores' of the underlying material and with multiple coats it provides waterproofing properties.
Hot Bitumen seal
A hot bitumen seal is a much hardier bitumen product, when compared to emulsion.
It is a lot more viscous, and will hold onto the aggregates that are spread on top to allow for trafficking.
